  • Update: April 21, 2026

    As of Summer 2025, the project is in the Final Design (FD) Phase. The FD Phase is anticipated to be completed in two years, then the Construction Phase will begin. The project continues to receive Federal funding with oversight by the NJDOT and NJTPA as cooperating agencies.

    The purpose of the Public Information Center meeting is to inform the public of the project status and schedule, present the preliminary engineering design plans and proposed detour route for the bridge replacement and approach roadway intersection improvements, and to solicit public input on the bridge replacement. The meeting is open to all members of the public.

    The purpose of the Public Information Center meeting is to inform the public of the Purpose and Need Statement and to solicit public input and comment on the conceptual alternatives and the Preliminary Preferred Alternative (PPA) for bridge improvements.  All members of the general public are invited and encouraged to comment on the study.

  • The Project Team has received concurrence from the cooperating and permitting agencies to progress with a recommended Preliminary Preferred Alternative and will schedule meetings with local officials and the general public to obtain input on proposed bridge improvements in the coming months (Fall 2019).
