Update: September 2, 2022

The Local Concept Development (LCD) Study was completed in 2020 and the project is now advancing to the Local Preliminary Engineering (LPE) Phase using federal funding. We are updating the website with new information during this transition. Please visit regularly for updates.

The purpose of the Public Information Center meeting is to inform the public of the Purpose and Need Statement and to solicit public input and comment on the conceptual alternatives and the Preliminary Preferred Alternative (PPA) for bridge improvements.  All members of the general public are invited and encouraged to comment on the study.

Update: September, 2019

The Project Team has received concurrence from the cooperating and permitting agencies to progress with a recommended Preliminary Preferred Alternative and will schedule meetings with local officials and the general public to obtain input on proposed bridge improvements in the coming months (Fall 2019).

Update: August 7, 2019
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has provided a preliminary review of the navigational survey results.

The County of Bergen and the County of Essex with the cooperating agencies of NJTPA and NJDOT in an effort to keep the community and general public informed of current progress on the Kingsland Avenue (De Jessa Memorial) Bridge LCD Study has developed this list of announcements:
